BLOG 4

I enjoyed the college class because it was a fun learning environment for me. I learned a lot from my teacher and sociology is a great subject for anyone to get to know. Socially looks at the bigger picture as opposed to the smaller picture in which we as human beings look at. Sociologist make sure that they know how the action or questionare will affect people and how it will not. The differences between high school and college is the time factor. The responsibility that you have to have in order to be in class at the appointed hour and stay for the entire time is just all on you. In high school you're forced to stay the entire time and it makes you feel locked up in a jail cell with no way out until the 2:50 bell. In college its freeing. You don't have to stay the entire time but you have to know the material. The most challenging aspect of college would have to be, well I don't really know, not having your friends there with you. I would recommend this class to future students without a doubt. Sociology is a wonderful class to take to learn how people interact with each other and how to treat people. It opens your mind and ou get a greater respect for everyone.

Shadow

This past Monday, I did not shadow anyone. We were supposed to shadow someone in the profession that we wanted to go into but a few of us were stuck in a conference room listening to very helpful information about UNMC. Had I shadowed a Physical Therapist, I would have been very happy with my experience. The conversations between patient and therapist, the love hate relationship is just awesome. The chance to have someone not like because you're helping is alright at first, but when they start to feel better and they warm up to when things get better; well there is no greater feeling on earth, just the feeling you recieve from helping someone else; a sense of accomplishment and an extreme sense of joy. ;)
